“Landscape Basics I'm adding rough brushstrokes and I'm pulling this top edge of the grass up. We can flick the brush and it softens this edge and we get lots of little lines that look like grass blades. The horizontal brushstrokes are good for creating depth in our grass. We want to make sure that the lines that we leave in are closer together in the distance than they are in the foreground. As we move down the painting or closer towards us on the grass, we can let these layers become much wider because this is where we'd be seeing more of the edge of the grasses. Since then, after amassing a large Instagram following of over 100K, she has established a full-time career and written the book Creative Gouache and continues to share her work and processes on social media.
