About the final project for: Animated GIFs for Instagram in Photoshop

Animated GIFs for Instagram in Photoshop

“Thank you for making it to the last unit of my course! For your final project, make your own fun animated image using everyday, tabletop objects. Try to keep the number of moving objects between 1 and 3. I like to use food but this could be absolutely anything that fits on a table and can be photographed from above. This is your chance to really get in there and have some fun. I also know that trying different things can get intimidating but that feeling can become fun when you move outside of your comfort zone and develop some new skills so go ahead and dive in. Brainstorm, let your imagination run wild. Make a list of objects that stand out to you whether they seem like they are going to make sense together or not. Remember that sometimes combining things that seem very unrelated can end up being very interesting and unique to you. Sketch out your composition, make sure that everything is going to pan out according to your vision for the animation.

Prepare your objects and start shooting those individual pieces!
Once you have your individual pieces photographed, pop into Photoshop and start getting all of those objects cut out so that you can move on to the real magical step in this process, the Photoshop timeline. Get everything stacked and loaded into one file, then fall headfirst into the whimsical world of the Photoshop timeline and get things moving. Upload your final piece by clicking on the "Create your project" button above. Remember that you can see my final GIF as an MP4 file in Unit 5.
Thank you for following along with me on this course, I hope that you picked up something that can help you on your creative journey into the future. I’ll be here to answer your questions as quickly as I can but I have a lot of cheeseburgers to animate so I might not be able to answer immediately. Also, feel free to comment on your fellow classmates' work. It is always nice to get constructive opinions from the community to improve your work. Thank you and keep animating! ”

First, make a list of objects, colors and places interesting to you. Use the list to connect the lines and begin to imagine your final concept. Sketch out a rough composition to make sure it works visually how you want it to. List out the objects and surface you'll need for your shoot and gather all items together. Set up your camera and lighting and take test shots to make sure everything looks right before you get in to it. Photograph your surface and th...”
