Fanuel Hanán Díaz graduated with a Batchelor of Arts in Social Communication from the Andrés Bello Catholic University in Venezuela and headed up the Department of Selection of Children's Books at Venezuela's Banco del Libro in Caracas. Several of his books have also been included in the IBBY Honour List, the White Ravens recommendation list, and the Programa SEP.

Over the last few years, he has gained extensive experience as an editor and university professor, as well as held the director's position at Barataria magazine, which specializes in Latin-American Children's Literature and the development of investigative projects such as Independent Scholar.
