Growing up in a creative household meant she was exposed to storytelling from a young age, something which she explored through her studies at LaGuardia Performing Arts High School in New York. During that time, she was nominated for a 1995 Emmy Award for a project she worked on to raise awareness around voting and gun violence. She later went on to hone her acting and storytelling skills at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
HaJ has created, written, produced, licensed, and sold content to networks and studios including ABC, CBS, VH1, and Disney. Her work has appeared in festivals including The New York Television Festival, IFP Film Week, and SeriesFest. She also created and starred in an Off-Broadway show that won her a ‘Best Writer’ Award and has had her work recognized by The New York Times, NPR, and Rolling Out.
