“Preparing our Wood and our Pieces In this unit, we're learning to prepare our pieces for the final project. I'm going to show you how to prepare one of our upper furniture pieces. Mind the blade protrusion across the entire width of the blade. If it protrudes more on one of the sides, that's where we're going to tap. To run our planer through the piece, make sure it doesn't wobble. Get the concave part of the piece or the more stable one on the bench and run your planer on the opposite one. I put a stop in front of the piece, one that's not as tall as our piece, so it won't get in our way. ...”
