“Workspace: Sharpening and Safety In this unit, we're going to talk about workspace, safety, and tool sharpening. Let's talk about sharpening your tools. Sharpening is a key part of your work and a key part of working safely. If your tools are dull, you have to exert more pressure, and by exerting more pressure and force, we lose control of it. Sharp tools such as chisels have a back and a bevel. The cutting edge is where back and bevel meet. The more polished the back and bezel surfaces, the better the edge.
