Since she was a child, Julia Christians has been a creative type interested in stand-alone comics, typography, and fanzines. She later went on to create her own website to showcase her digital illustrations. After completing her studies, she started work as a freelance graphic and web designer, and although her art became nothing more than a hobby, she never stopped dreaming of becoming a children's illustrator. With the help of some online courses, she managed to develop her personal style and put together a portfolio, which she presented at the Frankfurt Book Fair where she landed her first commission.

Julia's style can be described as fun, cheerful, entertaining, and full of personality. Her main sources of inspiration come from illustration, graphic design, typography, and interior design. She currently has a packed schedule and is represented by two different agencies, one German and the other international.

Julia has collaborated with publishers both within Germany and throughout the rest of the world including Oxford University Press, Nosy Crow, Verlagsgruppe Oetinger, Random House, Carlsen, Porsche, Rowohlt, HarperCollins, Magellan, and Coppenrath.
