I was at a public hospital in Sao Paulo, I was doing reading mediation for kids who were in hospital and I taught volunteers to do reading mediation. At the time, I happened to have a text by a French psychoanalyst that talked about reading to babies. I thought that was weird. I read the texts and fell in love with them. I took those texts to the hospital director and said, "Do you think I can go with my team into the baby wing of the hospital to read stories ...”
