Botanical Sketchbooking: A Meditative Approach

Great course, for skill improvement in drawing and watercolour, for inspiration, but also for observation and meditation. Lapin has a calming and clear influence. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed this course. Lapin, the teacher has a gentle voice and calm demeanor so it was quite meditative. His illustrations are extraordinarily beautiful and those are inspiring. The course contents and lesson plans are interesting and well presented. But I wish he showed how to do sketch or draw flowers/plant structures or contour before actually drawing the subjects in pen. Overall, it is a worthwhile course to take for someone who loves plants and flowers.

I have watched the whole course, and now will go back and study each section in depth. I have never been able to draw, but I found his methods and relaxed attitude perfect for me. Now I draw and paint a flower everyday. I love his style.

This was a wonderful drawing and painting course. I completed all the work and took my time doing it since Lapin encouraged us to be slow and meditative. He demonstrated the techniques in a way that was instructive and added a few new techniques to my beginner’s tool box! I am a better botanical artist as a result. Thanks so much.

Beautiful initiation to watercolor (in my case, but it's also suitable for someone who already paints!). I haven't finished it yet, taking my sweet sweet time, but I know this won't be my last course! I love Lapin, the way he teaches and all these new possibilities at the tip of my fingers!

This is a very enjoyable course, Lapin is in my opinion a skilled artist and a good teacher. The course pushed me to pick up again my tools after years of inactivity and gave me confidence in my skills: I was afraid at the beginning for using a liner directly without pencil, but Lapin's meditative approach helped enormously to see the shapes and focus on how to reproduce them on paper. And if you make mistakes it doesn't matter, just enjoy the process and get creative
