Botanical Sketchbooking: A Meditative Approach

His approach has me looking at plants in a new way. I am enjoying his teaching style and the content of the class.

I was a little disappointed in this course. His method of drawing a complex plant makes it difficult to do an accurate drawing

As an absolute beginner I love this course. Lapin makes drawing very accessible and enjoyable. The pace suits me, and I like the meditative approach.

Lapin is a lovely teacher. I love his approach to doing art as a meditation, especially during the pandemic. It's such a gift to give myself hours to sit and consider a plant in all its glory.

Really enjoyed it! I like spending time observing flowers and each time you find something new! Especially enjoying sketching the development of a single flower from young to decaying each day.

I'm really enjoying this course.
I find Lapin's voice very relaxing and really enjoy his approach to teaching.
I've gained a renewed love of drawing botanicals (particularly wild flowers) and I'm looking forward to gaining confidence in watercolour application too (I usually specialise in ink).

I had studied Botanical Art at one time but it entailed working for days on one piece. Lapin has given back to me the joy of drawing plants and sketching once again! He is a methodical instructor, I don’t get lost in his lessons. Right off the bat there is something do-able. I love it!

This course was different from any art course I've ever taken (and I've taken many!!). Lapin's slow meditative approach has me observing the natural world in a whole new way. Not only did my soul & spirit need this calming meditation time, my watercolor skills improved dramatically. I highly recommend and give many thumbs up!

Lapin is very knowledgeable and this is a great course. It is not a step by step "follow me and you will make a picture just like mine" course. He teaches you how to SEE and how to THINK to bring your own vision to light. Highly recommended!

Great course, for skill improvement in drawing and watercolour, for inspiration, but also for observation and meditation. Lapin has a calming and clear influence. Highly recommended!
