“ The Editing Process Once you have all your visuals in place, let me zoom out a bit here, and you have your whole timeline there. As you can see, I have everything on one track. I'm cutting from visuals to the talking head, back to some visual clips that help to tell the story. I come to the end and look at that. Originally the interview, remember, was 9 minutes and 30 seconds, which is not a big interview at all. You may end up with a lot more, so it could be a big challenge. Cassius Rayner has been working in the film industry for over 25 years. Throughout his career, he worked as everything from a TV runner to building music video props, until finally finding his calling: becoming a filmmaker. He went on to become a camera operator for clients like the United Nations, local TV news channels, music videos, comedy programs, and commercials.
He directed his first film, JUNK, in 1997, which featured pop legend Adam Ant and went on to win Best Independent Film. He continues making documentaries for broadcasting stations like ABC, Sky, PBS, and BBC. In 2014, he decided to take his filmmaking in a different direction, and started shooting exclusively with his iPhone, making documentaries, music videos, branded content, and more for clients all around the world. Since then, he’s gone on to win 14 international film awards.
