“Colour of the Spectrum Now let's talk about color. We see color because of light. Here I have a diagram with the visible spectrum. That's the spectrum we can see. Beyond red, there's infrared, and beyond violet, there's ultraviolet. That's part of the spectrum we can't see. Color is just light, which reflects on an object, bounces into our eye, and then our eye detects it as color. As you can see, it's a spectrum. Born and raised in Mexico, Remi Cárdenas started his artistic career at the University of Veracruz, where he studied painting and graphic design. He quickly discovered his passion for traditional painting techniques, which led him to study in places like The Academy of Realist Arts in Toronto, Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington DC, the Arts Students League and at the former Grand Central Academy in New York.
He has done various commissioned work like scientific illustrations, book covers for Editorial Planeta publishing house, and large scale paintings for Museum of Natural History in Mexico City. In addition to painting, Remi also hosts regular drawing workshops.
