About the final project for: App Design: Prototyping for Beginners

App Design: Prototyping for Beginners

“We have reached the end of the course, thank you so much for joining it. I hope you found it useful and now you feel ready to create your first full prototype. Let’s quickly go through all the steps to take for you to complete your final project: Firstly, gather your references. Find applications and websites similar to your idea. Time to Sketch! Take your idea out of your head and onto a piece of paper. You don’t need to be good at drawing, if you know how to write on a piece of paper you can Sketch. Start by writing down your key goals. Focus on the key flows of your application, how does a user go from step to step, how do they achieve each goal?

Next up, find some UI kits so that you don’t have to design something from scratch. Use the resources I have given you, or look anywhere on the internet to find a UI kit that can be a great starting point for your project. Put the design together. Using the UI Kit, as well as icons and resources you find in Additional Resources, put together the full design of your application. Remember, it doesn’t need to be perfect. Focus on the key areas that you want to show in your prototype.
And for the exciting part: time to Prototype! Take your design from a static mockup into a fully-fledged prototype. Add interactions between screens and give life to your idea.
Before I say goodbye I want to invite you to share your final project with everybody. Also, don't forget to comment on your colleagues' work, conversation is great for a creativity boost. I'll be in the forum, answering your questions as much as I can. It was a pleasure to be your teacher and I can’t wait to see what you will come up with! See you later! ”

Now, I'll explain how to take everything that you learned in this course and use it to take your idea and turn it into a full prototype with your own style and identity. We've covered so much in this course. We started by gathering references and finding inspiration by looking at other websites and apps similar to our project. Then it was time to sketch. We took our idea from our heads to paper to act as a nice foundation for our prototype. Through sketching, we were able to define our user goals and understand how the user would move from screen to ...”
