About the final project for: Artistic Drawing for Beginners

Artistic Drawing for Beginners

“We have reached the end of the course. Now is the time to do your own final project. It is important to understand that this drawing process is slow because your goal is to be precise in each phase, so, as extra materials, you need patience and perseverance. Work your way slowly, not letting any errors you see go by before moving on to the next step. The key is learning to be self-critical. You will see how with practice you will achieve greater precision and it will take less time for each drawing you make. Another important thing is to choose a reference image that you like and that motivates you. In this way you will better overcome blockages or difficulties because you will have more desire to see the result well done. In any case, try not to choose an overly ambitious benchmark, because if you can't tackle so much difficulty, you will end up frustrated and quit. It is preferable to start with something simple and go up the difficulty as you notice yourself more easily. Next, I am going to review the different phases to follow to develop the final project: In my case, I have chosen as the final project of the course a realistic drawing with graphite based on a still life that I created myself. You must choose what you want to draw. When you have decided, work on the different forms of composition and create or choose your reference image. The line, fit and proportion When we have the composition, we have to find a way to translate that information onto paper. To do this, you have to start with the line, the basic element of the drawing. Later, it is time to build the forms from abstraction, reducing the figures to their minimal geometric expression to work on the lace and the proportion of the drawing.

Texture and volume Next, we continue with the texture, taking into account both that of the objects and the texture that we are going to make on the paper with the graphite. Later, we will pay attention to the different phases of volume, as we saw in Unit 3 of the course.
Final result Finally, you have to photograph the drawing and prepare its technical sheet to add it to your portfolio. I have done the photography with my tablet, but you can use any device that takes good photos.
Care After giving the drawing the final touches, and once the work is finished, we fix the drawing with a pastel or charcoal spray as I taught you in the first lesson of Unit 4.
Now it's your turn, share your final project with all of us by clicking on "Create your project". As I have done above, remember to share both the final result of your drawing and the steps that have led you to it. I recommend that you take pictures of the phases of your process. They will help me to correct you and give you better feedback, and it will be great for you to have the documented process of remembrance. I will continue here to answer any questions and give you advice to improve your practice. I will try to reply as soon as I can. You can also comment on the projects of your colleagues in the forum. Companionship is important and rare in this competitive world; if we help each other, we will grow more. Regards and best wishes. Ahead! ”
