About the final project for: Illustrated Sketchbooking in Full Color

Illustrated Sketchbooking in Full Color

“We have reached the end of the course! Now, it’s time for you to embark on your final project of creating a sketchbook of your own. Using all the skills you’ve previously utilised in creating a single piece, try each of the palettes individually with three new illustrations within the theme of your choice. Of course if you’re not committed to the theme used for the tasks before this, feel free to switch to something else. Keep in mind all the techniques and the process we’ve used in this course: First, gather your materials and choose the main theme based upon your sources of inspiration and passions.

Then, start by drawing some rough sketches and create the colour wheel you will be using.
Once you've created the sketches, colour them applying different schemes and the techniques learned in the course.
Taking inspiration from your own passions and things you really enjoy drawing, you can share this feeling with those around you through a project like this. And Whatever mistakes you make, just know that I’ve splashed paint all over people sitting next to me on the train multiple times while making these pictures, so it can’t be worse than that. I wish you the best of luck, and I’m really excited to see what you come up with and all the things you’re passionate about. I’ll be reviewing the work you do, but please be patient as it might take me a bit of time to get to them alongside my day job. A sketchbook project can be so much fun to share too, so do let your friends and close-ones know so they can keep up to speed with all your new creations. You can learn a lot from a few little illustrations, and the skills you develop can help your next big one shine even brighter. I really do hope you enjoy this final project, and that you’re inspired to keep it going for sketchbook after sketchbook (I’m currently on sketchbook number 8). ”

I'd like to go over everything we've covered up until now and the techniques that we've used. First, I introduced myself and told you about my background. Then I told you how I fell in love with art and illustration, changing my career from physics to illustration. Then I shared some of the artists that have influenced me. Then we talk about how to get inspiration for your project based on your passions. This is an important part of the creative process because a strong p...”
