About the final project for: Graphic Visualization: Telling Complex Stories through Simple Images

Graphic Visualization: Telling Complex Stories through Simple Images

“Dear students, we have reached the end of the course. We have learned some things about our mind and how it perceives information, as well as seen some general design principles and talked about why we need visual content. Then we have closely studied the types of quantitative and qualitative visuals and also discussed how to choose the right one. After, I demonstrated to you the 3-step graphic visualization process (sketching, prototyping, and refining). I’m very excited to see your final projects for this course. Remember that you can choose whether you want to be informative and create infographics with qualitative types of visuals, or more inspirational and illustrate some of the quotes that I proposed or your own ones. Your visualizations should be exported as images in correspondence to the selected social media channel, remember you can check the correct sizes and specifications in the additional resources, and you have complete freedom to choose any style that represents you the most, but keep in mind that it’s important to maintain the same style for all the visuals, and when in doubt go with less is more. Keep your color choices to 2-3 and avoid using color to decorate, the message, and the idea is what’s really important here. If you have any questions or ideas, please use the comments and I will do my best to get back to you as soon as I can. Bye! ”
