Paper Flower Craft Techniques
“We’ve reached the end of this Domestika course. I hope you’ve learned the necessary skills to create your own beautiful flower arrangement. Before saying goodbye, I’d like to give you a few pointers in order to help you achieve your final project. First, we learned about protagonist and filler flowers and a few techniques for creating the centres of the flowers, the petals, and the leaves. Then we saw four different types of floral arrangements and the different shapes, sizes, and colors of the vases. It’s important to know where it will be placed, whether it’s in the centre of a table or on a shelf against a wall. We also saw how the vase will determine your colour palette. I chose a small, blueish gray vase that will be placed against a wall and experimented with different colours until I found those which go best with my vase. The size will define the height of your arrangement. We then learned how to make stems, attach the centrepieces, petals, and leaves, and also how to make branches for your foliage. Once we had that, I taught you how to arrange your creations in the vase. Remember this takes a lot of time and patience and you can do and undo as much as you need in order to find the best composition. I decided to make a wildish flower arrangement with a colourful protagonist and two filler flowers with simple leaves because it is more natural for that style of the vase but feel free to use those which suit your best. Your vase may be long and transparent, so you might like to make long colorful flowers in a Scandinavian style. Or maybe your vase is small and colourful so maybe you’d like small, elegant flowers in a more classic style. If you’re incredibly brave you might go for the sculptural arrangement with a lot of protagonist flowers and make very striking poses with them. Once you were happy with your arrangement, it was then time to find an ideal spot in your home or workspace to display your beautiful creation. And of course, I taught you how to take care of your unique piece so that it will last longer. I really hope you’ve enjoyed the whole process of making your paper flower creations. It is now time for me to say goodbye. Thank you for taking my course and I look forward to seeing all the steps you took to create your final project! If you have any questions, I’ll be happy to answer them in the forum. Goodbye! ”
