“Influences In this lesson I would like to share some of my influences. First I would like to talk about René Magritte. I discovered he has made some of the same associations I do. When I discovered this one, the combination of the shoes and the feet, I felt like it legitimized my work because it's the same thing I do. The association that the shape and function of both is similar, and, at the same time, it shows that the way we cover up our feet with leather is very strange, so it also reflects on our behavior. This was very inspiring and also gave me kind of permission to make what I make....”
