“Basic Watercolor Exercises and Techniques Now we'll use the technique wet on dry and wet on wet. Before we start, write on the side of the paper the technique we're going to use so that we can remember it later. Let's start with wet on dry, like the name says, we'll use watercolor on paper that is dry. I'm going to use the pan ones because it's easier, but you can choose liquid, tube or pan.
