About the final project for: Botanical Watercolor for Patterns

Botanical watercolor for prints

“Dear student, Creating this course was a very important milestone in my career since it was at Domestika where it all started for me. I hope that with him, you can also find yourself in art as I found myself. After going through different stages we have the final project carried out. And although I teach you what I know, I am also always learning something new with my practices and processes. Next, we will review some of my steps for the final project, so you can get inspired and adapt them to your creations. 1. Draw the sketch and transfer it to the final watercolor paper This is a process that for a long time I used the simple method, painting the back of the sheet to make the transfer. Regardless, the end result will be the same.

2. Paint the three elements in watercolor The most intuitive part of the whole process. We never know exactly how a painting will end and this is the coolest part! Let the watercolor show you the way!
3. Scan, process, and finalize the paintings in Adobe Photoshop A very important part of the process, a clean final image with appropriate colors will give us the perfect final result in the printing.
4. Objects produced Here are the three objects I asked to produce. I chose a notebook, mini bag, and cell phone cover. These are some items that I have produced in previous collections and I know they work well for my type of audience. Always remember to make these considerations when producing anything.
I hope that I was able to help you walk the beginning of the path and that from now on you will practice every tip and technique taught, as learning is constant, and that, in time, you will find your own way of painting and translating the world through watercolor. I'll be here, looking forward to seeing each of your creations shared on the forum! Also, if you wish, show us your progress through Instagram with photos and the hashtag #IsabelaQuintesDomestika. A big hug, Isabela ”

Isabela Quintes is a Brazilian-born artist living in Barcelona, Spain. She studied Fashion Design in Brazil, where she developed professionally until she moved to Spain. The change of air motivated her to try new areas related to the Fine Arts and, in a self-taught way, she started to go deeper into drawing, painting, and watercolor illustration.

In a constant process of investigation and exploration, she translates reality and her imagination into her paintings. Her native country is her main source of inspiration, where there is an enormous wealth of tropical flowers and plants. Isabela’s botanical illustrations often have strong and vibrant colors. In addition to producing her works, she has created other projects, ranging from illustrations and patterns for notebooks and stationery to personalized wedding invitations.
