“Extra elements and improvisation The way I use shadows is by looking for some contrast. If the female figure we have, or whatever we have, is a light figure, I'll try to make a darker contrast of shadows around her. If the figure we're doing is dark, I generally do thinner lines around it, which look clear and might end up dark. It's about creating contrasts. Now what I'll do is generate different texture planes in which I combine mid-tones, light tones and dark tones, so that the whites and blacks contrast.
