About the final project for: Traditional Drawing Techniques with Procreate

Traditional Drawing Techniques with Procreate

“We have reached the end of the course. I hope you enjoyed this trip as much as I did. We are going to briefly recover everything we have seen throughout the course. First, I explained a little more about myself, about my working method, influences and, mainly, about the importance of notebooks in my daily life. Afterwards, we discussed ideas and concepts, and we saw the importance of field notebooks. We continue with the Procreate tools, as well as with the brushes, learning how to create our own. Also, we learned how to draw portraits and bodies of our characters, and how to put the finishing touches and finishes creating a magical atmosphere. Later, we put everything we learned into practice working on our illustration to finally export it and see some options to show our work to the world and create an interesting portfolio. Next, I am going to review the steps to follow to carry out your final project. I am going to do it with the illustration that I have done, but you can let your creativity fly and make a different drawing putting into practice everything you have learned during the course. Sketch your illustration Select your reference or seek inspiration with the help of field notebooks. When you've decided what to draw, sketch it in a notebook or notebook, then photograph it for transfer to Procreate for further development.

Portrait Taking advantage of the knowledge acquired in the course, work on your sketch to gradually add layers of detail to the face of your drawing until it is finished.
Body drawing Later, you can start with the body drawing taking into account the basic notions that we have seen, paying attention to the body, the pose, the spots and the highlights.
Improvisation and final details Finally, add the final details that will give character to your illustration and let yourself be carried away by the inspiration of the moment. To finish, export your drawing as we have seen in Unit 5.
Share your work on the forum by clicking the "Create your project" button. Remember to share both the final result of your illustration and the different phases of the process that have led you to it. By posting your progress, other students will be able to both comment on your work and learn from you, and I can give you my best constructive assessment. The blank sheet and ideas are always a bit squeamish, but we've seen that there are very useful ways to capture ideas and carry them out. Everything is full of references and influences from which we can nourish ourselves and draw what we carry inside. Consistency is key to be able to carry out your ideas. In my case, I have dedicated every hour of the day to him for years. All the time you invest will be an advance in every way; in technique, ideas, feeling more at ease… it is something that is trained. I advise you to review the notebooks and the notes of your favorite ideas; there are some that need more time but, if you think it's time, you can develop them further and thus have your final project. You have been able to see how I work, I encourage you to take the advice that best suits you and try, there will be things that will serve you more than others depending on what you are looking for. I will be happy to see the processes and the final project in which you have decided to immerse yourself and give you feedback in the forum. See you soon!”

Partial transcription of the video

“Final project Now that we've finished I'll briefly summarize the contents we saw. I started by talking about myself, my influences and especially, about the importance of notebooks to capture our ideas. I hope you also use as many notebooks as you need to capture everything you want and that they help you personally. We also saw how to work on ideas, concepts and references, to then see some of the Procreate tools and, especially, to create our own brushes. I hope they help you so you can enjoy the program even more. We saw basic notions of drawing, the naturalness of the face and we studie...”
