About the final project for: Dynamic Animation with 2D and 3D Illustration

Dynamic Animation with 2D and 3D Illustration

“We’re all done! We hope you enjoyed building this new world through 2D illustration and 3D modeling. We hope you feel a bit inspired to step out of your comfort zone, take on a little passion project, and get those creative juices flowing. Starting a new project from nothing seems overwhelming and maybe you’ve been stuck in a creative rut. But we hope you find a little funny story or moment in your life, simply by just starting with one single idea… and bringing that idea into a whole new world. There’s a lot of prep work, but the more prepared you are before you get into animating, the easier and simpler the final steps will be. First, look at your own experiences to spark a story idea, and brainstorm from there. Once you have come up with a rough idea, create a visual script, design a storyboard and define the look of your animation.

We designed and modeled everything before moving on to pacing.
Remember to take your time in the preproduction phase. Skipping steps makes it difficult in the long run. Also, don’t be scared to break the rules! One example from our course, we made the creative decision to jump from a shot of a 2D character, to a close up shot of the same character in 3D. It’s those little decisions that can help make your animation unique. Once you have modelled all the elements and characters of the scene, it's time to animate them with Cinema 4D. Remember that you can see our final animation in Unit 4, as an MP4 file attachment. Again, we encourage you to find fun and interesting stories yourselves so you can make these little shorts when you feel like you’re creatively uninspired. Hopefully you’ve picked up a few new techniques to help you create a uniquely beautiful world. Please, share your work with the community by clicking on the "Create your project" button above. Thanks for taking this course and we are looking forward to seeing how you bring these tips and tricks into your own stories. Please be patient when receiving replies, but we will absolutely do our best to reply as soon as we can! And we encourage you all to give feedback and tips to each other! It’s great to hear any suggestion from fellow creatives and maybe we can make a connection and collaborate on something in the future! ”
