“In this lesson, I'm going to take you through some of my influences. I'm going to show you where I find my love for colour and pattern and the things that I find inspiring. One of the main art movements that I get influenced from It's the Memphis Milano group. This was a group that took like Art Deco twisted it on its head, and gave it a bit of an 80s twist. It's really bold in colour and pattern. This is one of my favourite books by an artist prominent in the Memphis movement. And I love its title, Don't Take These Drawings Seriously.
