Micah Clasper-Torch
A course by Micah Clasper-Torch
Micah Clasper-Torch is a fiber artist, designer, and educator based in Los Angeles, California. She received a BFA degree at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and the Politecnic University of Milan. From there, she went on to work in the art and commercial fashion industry for ten years alongside companies like Ralph Lauren and Coach. Micah later moved back to Los Angeles to focus on creating a range of products from fiber art including clothing, rugs, wall hangings, and mixed media artwork.
She draws inspiration from her travels, the natural world, and architecture, using materials like fabric, yarn, thread, and paper to keep the traditional crafting technique alive. Her work has been displayed in art galleries and private collections as well as being featured in books and magazines such as Koel Magazine, Mollie Makes, Love Embroidery Magazine, and Amy Oxford’s Guide to Punch Needle Rug Hooking.
