Composition and Color for Creative Illustration

Marcos' artwork is very different from the other classes I've taken so far. It's fun to get such an insider's comments on how to interpret what a magizine is wanting in illustration. Fascinating. It's given me a lot of new ways to look at creating art and how color and composition impact the decision making process.

I'm new to illustration and so I was very happy to see Marcos Chin outline his creative process from start to finish. Composition and color are the main reasons why I chose this course, and I definitely have a better understanding of those aspects now.

I enjoyed learning about Marcos's artistic process where he blends digitally drawn vector art with analog textures, brush and ink marks. It's not something I've tried before so it added some very interesting and rewarding elements to my final project. Marcos is an experienced and brilliant editorial illustrator so I also benefitted from his tutorial videos on composition, colouring theory and how to take visual inspiration from a body of text.

El curso es muy bueno y agradable, aunque siento que, referente a la composición, faltó un poquito más de información o ejemplos.

Really enjoyed this class. I learned how to turn a boring, static vector illustration to a rich and vibrant piece of illustration. I wish I knew about this class earlier.
