2D and 3D Animation with After Effects and Cinema 4D
“Dear student: You have reached the end of the course! We are going to collect all the phases. For the first time, I introduced myself and told you a bit about my professional experience and some of my influences. Then we start the project by facing the analysis of the brief and the script, a very important part to collect essential information in order to create a project that corresponds to the needs and expectations of the client. With this in hand, we have started the pre-production of the project from the realization of the storyboard , to develop our composition guide, camera movements and transitions. I also showed you how to generate a voiceover to use as a guide. Then the entire design and development part of the art direction was worked on in Adobe Illustrator and After Effects. After pre-production, we started to assemble our video structure using the styleframes and the locution, then the camera movements / transitions between the shots were developed, I began to work on the animation of the main elements of the narration and then the secondary ones to give more dynamism to the 2D piece, all this with the aim of optimizing the production in After Effects and implementing the animation. Once the 2D animation was ready, I showed you how to use Cinema 4D to add value to the project, I taught you how to model objects using the tools of that program, how to animate and use the animation curves and you the cameras. I explained how to create materials and lighting so that the 3D scene had a 2D finish. And finally, I showed you how to put the two parts together so that they would have continuity and I contributed a bit of post-production and effects to fine-tune the result. You can use this technique in any type of project and combine the two tools as you need. For this course I suggest you find a simple but interesting idea to develop. It can be the introduction of your reel , the promotion of a real or digital product or a short story. And now, it's your turn! Apply the stages of the process that I explained to you and share in the forum your final project with your process, your creation stages and of course, its final appearance! It has been a pleasure to show you my work process and share my experience in practice. Remember that it is necessary to have patience and that no one takes things out the first time, so arm yourself with the will and desire to learn and improve. I recommend you share your concerns in the forum and, please, have a little patience to receive a response. Be encouraged to give advice to other colleagues and share your process and results to also receive feedback from the community. ”

“FINAL PROJECT We are going to review everything learned during the course. First I taught you to analyze the brief to detect the client's need and then to make a storyboard so that the piece is more fluid. Then I showed you how to prepare an Illustrator file and pass it to After Effects to start animating in 2D. Then I explained how to animate in 2D, starting with the main blocks like body and face and then how to fine-tune the whole animation through secondary animations such as expressions or facial movements. We work on 3D animation, starting with the models, the scene, the camera moveme...”
