About the final project for: Artistic Illustration Techniques with Graphite Pencils

Artistic pencil illustration

“Dear student, we have reached the end of the course. I can only thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be part of your development as an artist. Doing this course was wonderful for me, it allowed me to do a very interesting retrospective process and sharing it with you seeing the results is too gratifying. Here are the key points that we saw during the course: first, I told you about the path I followed to become an illustrator. I showed you the artists and things that have influenced me throughout my life and you gave me the opportunity to meet yours. Having entered the subject, we learned a little about the history of the pencil and its importance in art and we saw the most common techniques used with the pencil. We also saw more complex techniques of using graphite as gradients and textures and we began to practice them with an illustration for a memory of our lives. Based on a personal story, we give you an illustration to complement it. We found the most important words in the text and made preliminary sketches until we reached a final sketch. Which we learned to move to a clean sheet and applied the techniques learned. Once our work was completed, we learned ways to protect it so that it lasts for years. Finally, we discovered the great output that the graphite technique has and how even, being such an old tool, it is used for professional and professional work. Remember that it is important that an illustration is the complement of the text but not an ornament. That making mistakes is part of the learning process and that practice, discipline, perseverance and observation are the key to success. Geniuses can be counted on the fingers of the hands, which means that good artists are those who persevere to achieve their goals. They started from the bottom and their constancy led them to where they are today. I want to leave you this link which is where I publish my stories from my travels: This was my excuse for many years (even today it is) to practice writing and illustration and it has helped me a lot to increase my portfolio and to understand how to read texts that become illustrations. Suddenly you can start your own project that allows you to practice illustration. Something you are passionate about will be the best option. I will be waiting to answer any questions you have. Just remember that I must also serve other clients and that is why I cannot respond as quickly as I would like. Although I will do everything in my power to answer you as soon as possible. Something that has been important to my professional growth has been constructive criticism. So I advise you to show your work to other classmates and humbly receive criticism of them, whether they are good or bad. Do not take it to heart, even if they are good reviews. The time you work to make your dreams come true will be reflected in the work you do. See you soon and again, thank you very much. ”

“Final project We have reached the end of the course. I hope you have learned to be patient to achieve your goals with the pencil technique. Next I will give you a review of what we saw so you can carry out your final project. I started by giving you a brief tour of the history of the pencil. I talked about the origins of the graphite discovery and how the pencil became a vital artistic tool. Then we saw the meanings of the numbers that we see in the pencils and I did a demo what is the difference in the outline of each one of them. Next we saw the materials that we would use for this course...”
