Architectural Sketching with Watercolor and Ink

I really enjoyed this course, and I thought Alex was a likeable and insightful teacher. I liked the pacing, the artist background and influences section, and overall found it really approachable.

I've previously found watercolour very frustrating, but this inspired my to buy some better quality paints, brushes and paper. Then with the techniques I learnt on the course, I was able to make something to be proud of.

I would highly recommend.

I was drawn to this course because of Alex's style and as an artist, I struggle with being heavy-handed. I love how he is able to capture a feeling of a place and the character of a building with minimal gestures in ink and paint. It's good for beginners and more advanced sketchers because it offers a great insight into how someone else works. I feel inspired to get out at get a little looser with my sketches!

I love this artist's style and it has really added a new dimension to my art , I would highly recommend this for beginners and professionals a like , there is so much in it and Alex's art is very inspiring

Alex is well-organized and has a technique that helps him make beautiful, impressionistic urban architectural paintings. Paris offers some great subjects. The filming jumps nicely between close-ups and across-the-table demos. I enjoyed the class very much. I hope Alex will do another class- possibly with broader subject matter.

This teacher was able to show that it could be fun to embrace the unpredictableness of the medium and not get stressed. He did a brilliant job of anticipating some common areas of concern and frustration and addressed them all well. Hopefully, the written assessments on the final projects posted will also help.

Good course for beginner and more the more experienced alike. Particularly good tips on perspective.
