“Choosing yarn Lesson 1 In this lesson I'll show you different sorts of yarns, what they're made of, their material qualities, and we'll look at labels to understand what they mean. The first yarn I have here is a DK which stands for double knit. That means it's thin. Anything that's 4-ply, DK, means it's thin and needs a small hook. This particular one is a cotton. Cotton obviously comes from a plant and it's really tough. This jumper I'm wearing which is bouncy and fluffy is made of woollen acrylic. Cotton, if you knit up or crochet up, as we'll do, has a drape, so it hangs really heavily,...”
