About the final project for: Upcycling with Crochet for Beginners
Introduction to Crochet
“Dear students, We have reached the end of this course, thank you for joining me and I hope you have enjoyed learning how to crochet and been inspired to think of different ways you can use it. Over the course we have learned how to pick yarn and hooks, follow patterns and choose colours for our designs. We have explored and experimented with stitches and techniques to crochet traditional squares and triangles, as well as contemporary ways of working into other materials to create something that is sustainable and unique. Remember, the full written patterns are here for you to download and they include all the important things you need to think about when making your slippers. Don’t be afraid to carry on experimenting and see how else you can use a simple granny square to create something new. You can make your slippers into full boots, create a pair using just squares, or make anything from jumpers to blankets. It has been a real pleasure creating this course and I look forward to connecting with you, giving you extra advice and talking about your makes. I would ask that you be patient though, I will get in touch with you as soon as possible but saving the world with crochet is a busy job, and as a professional, I have other clients that I have to look after too. Don’t be afraid to connect with the crochet community online and on social media, there is heaps of advice you can get and give, and crocheters are the friendliest people you will ever meet. We all love to share our craft and everyone has different tips and tricks that you will find inspiring and exciting. Thanks so much!”
