“Art Materials Now that I've shared some of my influences, I'll share the art materials I'll be using for this course. You’re welcome and free to use art materials that you have and feel comfortable with using as this is a collage class. I like to work with basic material. By basic I mean easy to find and inexpensive. I don't work with things that are too expensive, be it paint or paper, as I feel a little bit frozen, like I can't make a mistake or try something new. For surfaces, I like to use this watercolor paper. It's a fairly inexpensive brand. I prefer to work on 90 pound cold press. C...”

She has won numerous awards from American Illustration, Communication Arts, the Society of Illustrators Society of News Designers, and Art Directors Club. Ellen illustrated the children’s book Yayoi Kusama: From Here to Infinity and is the author and illustrator of Recipes for Good Luck: The Superstitions, Rituals and Practices of Extraordinary People.
Her work is in the permanent collection of the Library of Congress. She also teaches at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and hosts lectures and workshops at art schools internationally.
