In this class, I’m going to talk about what I’ve prepared for you throughout the course. You will start by learning light and shadow techniques using the tone on tone technique. I'm going to show you how to make color passages by applying hatches with the brushes I will create in Adobe Illustrator. We are going to draw a pop culture character applying these techniques to practice before the final project. For the project, I will explain how to create a vector portrait in Adobe Illustrator of an icon of Brazilian popular music from a photo researched on Google, and how this choice of the theme came about. And, finally, I will teach you how to apply textures to treat colors in Adobe Photoshop and post on social media. I will also comment on why I will use these two programs in this course.”

Rogério Puhl knew from a very early age what he wanted to be in life: an artist. This young Brazilian artist was admitted to the School of Arts of Chapecó at age 14, and when he was 18, he discovered the world of digital illustration. Then, he began to collaborate professionally as an illustrator, art director, and graphic designer in advertising agencies such as Agência 750 and Estúdio Alice, as the co-founder of both.

He has painted murals around the globe and he currently lives in Turin, Italy. With his PUHL studio, he uses digital illustration to work ideas of common sense in his images and transforms them in the most unusual way possible to give narrative to his drawings. He has worked with renowned national and international advertising agencies, such as Africa, MTV, McDonalds, Red Bull, AlmapBBDO, DM9DDB, JWT, Cubo.cc, Africa, NBS, Ogilvy, WMcCann, Age Isobar, Leo Burnett, LiveAD, lew'lara \ TBWA, FutureBrand, Young & Rubicam, among others.
