“Reserves and paint control Something very surprising when starting with silk painting and, in fact, I think that is what hooks me the most, it is the way it moves. The sisters Cecília and Mercè González, creators of the textile art and craft workshop Desedamas, began to paint with silk in a self-taught way, as a hobby and also as a therapy. Each one comes from a different professional field: Cecília, a technical artist by training, and Mercè, a chemical engineer.

In the year 2000, they decided to turn their passion into a way of life and started selling their work at craft fairs all over Spain. In 2006, they started to combine silk with textile art, painting silk for patchwork and working with specific techniques. Nowadays they work in both handicrafts and textile art, and they are also dedicated to teaching. In 2013, they both obtained a Master Craftsman diploma.
