About the video: Preparing the session: locations, props and styling
“Once you are clear about what you want to tell and have made the previous sketches, it is important to determine what you need to start developing your photographic series. I will tell you about the importance of location in narrative photography and I will give you tricks to take advantage of simple locations that we have within our reach. I will also show you some of my sets of photography low cost . Also, I will show you what elements I have chosen for my session and how each of them will work within the narrative series. You will see that everything I use in my photographs is very easy to achieve, and that I always try to get the most out of the objects around me and my own wardrobe. ”
In this video lesson Dara Scully addresses the topic: Preparing the session: locations, props and styling, which is part of the Domestika online course: Introduction to Narrative Photography. Learn the resources to tell a story through images.

Dara Scully started taking photography at seventeen and has since then developed a creative voice and a universe through experimentation, error, and play. She studied Fine Arts at the University of Salamanca (Spain) and completed her technical training in photography at the EFTI School in Madrid (Spain).
In her work, she explores everything that seduces her and shapes her artistic universe: childhood and the transition to adolescence, instincts, the link between the human and the wild, and everything that lives in the shade. Dara’s photographic work has been exhibited at art fairs in Spain, Great Britain, France, and Iran.
