I taught myself to draw about 1988-89 and I was very happy with what I could draw. I used "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" by Betty Edwards. It taught me so much. My life changed at that time in a major way and I stopped drawing. I wondered if I had lost the ability and became frightened again to draw. I am in my sixties and I will be retiring soon. So life will change again for me. I have just started drawing again with lessons at the Victorian Artists Society in East Melbourne Australia. I am looking forward to getting back to seeing again. My class is using a live model at the moment it is challenging but I am amazed how fast time flows when I am in the class.
I find using an easel a different skill than drawing at a desk on a pad or single sheet of paper. I have less control of the line and find that a little disorienting. Any tips out there??
Thanks for reading
