I am 54 and have dabbled in art. Both my parents were proficient in art but never were in creative fields. My father actually had a very unique art style when he was taking art classes as a youth in the 1940's. He used a lot of interesting subject matter and perspective. I scanned his images and see them daily and they are a touchstone and inspiration to me. My grandmother also was an artist and did all the illustrations for her Year book from 1915 and I have all those as well. I make jewelry and have painted and have worked with drawing on and off. .. but this year, I want to really explore my artistic style and do more consistant inspiring work and perhaps find a way to make some money , or perhaps just have something to share with others. I take care of a cat colony and want to explore drawing cats so perhaps I can generate donations by my art of cats. I find that art therapy is also very helpful for me and I don't do it enough. I have also worked extensively with photography but would like to hone my skills at transferring the photos into something more unique.
