Brick stitch
Always start from the back of your fabric, and pull the thread through until the knot at the end of your thread rests against it. Do your first stitch straight along the design, sending your needle back through the fabric. Now leave a blank space. Make sure this space is the same size as the first stitch you created, before coming back up through the fabric.
