His production on Thriller, in particular, helped the album become the best-selling record of all time, reaching millions of fans across the world. His ability to blend pop, jazz, R&B, and soul brought a new sound to popular music, influencing countless artists.

Jones wasn’t only involved in pop music, he also composed scores for films and television, including The Color Purple, In the Heat of the Night, and Roots. This groundbreaking work in film scored him an Oscar nomination, and he remains one of the most nominated artists in Grammy history, with a total of 28 Grammys and 80 nominations.
Beyond his work in music, Quincy Jones was a strong advocate for diversity and mentoring young talent. He founded organizations, like the Quincy Jones Foundation, aimed at improving global health and supporting music education. Jones also co-produced the iconic We Are the World song in 1985, raising millions to combat famine in Africa.
