Australia is well-known for everyone's favorite, furry little friend - the koala! While you might not be able to take a trip down under to meet one in real life, who's to say you can't draw your very own right at home? Today we are going to share a step-by-step tutorial that will detail exactly how to draw the perfect koala!

Follow the steps below:

Step 1

Start with the head shape and the big ears that Koalas are known for, and then continue with the fur collar.

Step 2

Next come the front legs and the rest of the body. The koalas fingers are very easy to draw, just some simple squares.

Step 3

Split the face with a cross to keep things symmetrical, and draw the features.

Step 4

Draw the line art. To achieve the fluffy look draw flowy interrupted lines in the areas that have the most volume or are over curved shapes like the ears. The fingers and nails are basically square shapes.

Step 5

Coloring is easy, just make sure that the shadows and light coloured areas have that fluffy look by feathering the edges.
