Robyn McLean

I'm Robyn, known to most as Boo. I run a micro business called bip bop boo.

I create textile designs that highlight the special beauty of the hot dry tropics of northern Australia where I live, to draw attention to nature, to educate and inspire. I turn my designs into homewares and fashion accessories, functional creations made by hand with as little waste as possible. I have a particular fondness for birds, which feature heavily in my work and I am inspired by the connection many other people have with birds as well.

I'm also co-owner of a shop that sells the work of around 50 local creatives. We started the business in 2019 to enable other artists to sell their work in a friendly environment with low overheads and no time commitments beyond maintaining their own spaces. It’s important to me that artists are seen and valued and rewarded for their work.
