I am a multi-dimensional artist, which is a nice way of saying I can't resist playing with every shiny new art form that comes along. It's the latest thing! The ONLY thing! Boop boop! Yep, I'm Mr. Toad of Wind In The Willows. :-D
I paint with watercolors, colored pencils, and digital art. I've sold a few paintings here and there through my Ornithovoyance Etsy shop.
Lately I've become enamored of resin art and am just getting into liquid acrylic pouring art. I also sculpt, a skill I learned in my 25-year career as a pro puppeteer. (Back in the day. Retired now.)
I'm also a singer-songwriter/recording artist. My husband, Stu, and I are a duo called Neptune's Keep. (faebynature dot com/neptuneskeep). We have released four albums and are currently working on a fifth. Stranger-than-fiction fact about Neptune's Keep: For years our little band also included some very musical goldfish and seahorse dancers. Yes, fish really are quite intelligent. They love music and can understand complex musical concepts. They also rock a virtual electric guitar and other instruments! Nowadays it's just us humans in the band, though. Well played, amoebas, well played.
When not making music or art, I spend my time managing a small 6-acre wildlife sanctuary on our property in western Wisconsin. (My degrees are in Wildlife Science with an Animal Behavior Specialty, and Veterinary Physiology.) I am an Avian linguist. I study the languages of birds and converse with them in their own languages. I'm most fluent in American Crow and Blue Jay, but I get by pretty well in Goldfinch, Pine Siskin, and other Avian communication systems, too.
And last but by no means least, I am a Druid and an Ornithovoyante (Ornithovoyance dot com). We're the treehugger Stonehenge people. And for me, as for cultures around the world, birds are a treasured part of my spiritual path.
I'm very pleased to brush up on my animal art skills with Sarah Stokes' wonderful Domestic courses! They're the latest thing! The ONLY thing! Boop boop! <3
