Maria Ariadni Gatsinou Vakratsi

My name is Ariadni. I am Greek and I live in Athens and in Patmos island. I have a very small jewellery workshop in Chora, at Patmos. I mainly use silver and stones and I like to combine them with gold threads that I knit. I was always fascinated by opera and dance, unusual clothes and later, when I was a teenager, jewelry. I grew up around art, as family members were painters and architects. I studied Set Design and Costume Design at the Stavrakou School and studied Cultural Studies and Greek Culture at the Hellenic Open University. I worked with architects and interior designers. For many years I had a clothing and accessories store and partly made my own jewelry. I've had my own jewelry workshop for a few years now and recently I've been doing Silversmithing classes. I scour the internet a lot for techniques and love seeing other people's creations. I loved design and techniques and would really appreciate it if I could have the chance to learn from them.
