Creativity apps and software
Adobe Creative Cloud
Adobe is giving teachers and students free access to the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop apps at least until May 31st. Check the terms to take advantage of this offer.
Microsoft Office 365
The basic package, including Word and Excel, will be free to organizations for six months together with other team collaboration tools.
Affinity Suite
They are offering either a 90-day free trial or a 50% discount if purchased directly, both for Mac and Windows platforms. It includes software for photo editing, design, and illustration.
Music-making with Moog and Korg
The two companies are giving away their mobile apps for synthesizers, perfect for creating music and sound effects. Ideal for enthusiasts and professionals.
Reaper
A sound workstation that offers a free license for a limited time (by clicking on the white banner at the top).
The application, developed to meditate and alleviate stress, has free resources available during this current, unprecedented times.
Apps for teamwork
This app offers free resources for emergency management, for example, to assist with remote collaboration, employee safety, emergency reporting, and other useful services.
This app allows for conferences of up to 250 participants and to record video calls free of charge until July 1st.
Panopto are providing schools, businesses, and other institutions with free access to their video software. This service helps create virtual libraries of resources that you can share within your groups, for example, tutorials of procedures or essential notifications. It records Zoom meetings automatically.
Free creativity resources
You will be able to find more than 19 thousand items from 193 countries, from the year 8000 b.c. to the present day. The cultural and educational content is free, in various languages and related to the entire world. Find university, library, and museum journals, as well as audio resources.
The Smithsonian Institution published 2.8 million images for public use, free of charge and with no copyright restriction. Two centuries’ worth of images, in 2D and 3D, kids’ material, and a lot more.
The BBC has made more than 16 thousand sound effects available for non-commercial use, including animal, machinery and human sounds.
