Free 2022 Calendar for Community Managers
From holidays to public awareness days, plan ahead for the key dates with this free community manager calendar
As senior creative strategist Ana Marín (@anamarinirl) puts it, the perfect calendar for a community manager should be tailored to your brand identity and your communications strategy—the dates relevant to a beauty brand might differ from that for a car company, for example. But it’s also true that it’s always a good idea to have a guide to hand with relevant days (both locally and globally) in order to plan your social media communication strategy in advance.
To celebrate Community Manager Appreciation Day, we’re sharing an essential calendar (for free!) compiling some of the year’s key dates to serve as a guide as you plan your marketing strategy for the year ahead.

Global dates for community managers
Although you'll want to take the brand sector and where you’re sharing your content into consideration when planning your community management strategy, there are some global events or anniversaries that many companies will want to consider.
As communication consultant and social media strategist Núria Mañé (@nuriacomunica) points out, some of the most relevant dates in any digital communication strategy are worldwide events that are marked on the same day in countries all over the world. For example:
- Earth Day (April 22)
- Yellow Day, aka the "happiest day of the year" (June 20)
- World Teachers' Day (October 5)
- Green Friday, a sustainable alternative to Black Friday (last Friday of November; November 25, 2022)
- Giving Tuesday (Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the US; December 1, 2022)
- Human Rights Day (December 10)
However, it’s important to be mindful that some well-known days—such as Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Children's Day, to name just a few—aren’t celebrated on the same date in all parts of the world. Adapting your strategy according to these differences is important.
An experienced digital marketing specialist, Foncho Ramírez (@cholutions) highlights the importance of pre-planning for days that “drive brand sales through online promotions”.
Using examples like Cyber Monday, Cyber Week, Black Friday, etc, he explains: “These are usually stipulated by a business organization or Chamber of Commerce, and it is important that e-commerce companies consider strategies in advance in order to create and communicate their offers and discounts."
Local dates and culture
Foncho also emphasizes the importance of taking into account the individualities of your target audience, including the culture and traditions of your followers for deeper engagement.
For example, he explains: "In Peru, there's Ceviche Day and Pisco Sour Day—days that are tied to the gastronomic world, but also to the cultural identity of the country... This could be important for a brand that wants to promote national values, even if it doesn't necessarily sell the aforementioned food or drink.”
