Introduction
As part of an art course at Stonehill College, we were assigned a monochromatic collage based on a famous painting to help us study light and shade.
using tiny scraps of paper of 5 shades, I created a light and shadow collage based on Francisco Goya's painting "Witches' Flight"

Supplies
-gray tone paper in 5 shades (1 black, 1 white, and 3 inbetween)
-reference photo
-modpodge/glue
-card stock (for base/background)
The Reference Painting
As mentioned above, my reference was "Witch's Flight" by Francisco Goya- found below

The Darkest Parts
After creating a rough sketch, I started with the darkest parts of the painting and filled them in with tiny pieces of black paper

Mid-tones and Highlights
Once the darkest parts were filled in, I focused on the mid-tones and highlights using the other shades of paper and eventually white.
