My project for course: Colorful City Portraits: Illustrate Your Favorite Place

While I was studying the island of Murano for my Master's thesis (a restoration project for one of the present glassblowing studios), I stumbled upon the course on illustrating a city's portrait and I thought to myself: that would be a fun way to create a map that captures the main characters of the island rather than just the concept of glassblowing making it an interesting place.

I used Procreate to draw the facades of the factories and used Illustrator to maintain the accuracy of Architecture in the mapping part at least.

It has been an inspiring process to look at the big picture when working with one factory out of a whole bunch. I am glad I learnt new techniques while taking this course and I am pleased with the overall result as it is an architectural illustration that gives an approachable image to something more complex laying in the thesis.
