Transdemonism

I tried to convey the dissonance of body and mind that comes with being a trans person.

Acrylic paint and molding paste on canvas. Sealed with acrylic spray gloss.

I was trying to symbolize the inherent, raw discomfort that comes with being transgender. On one side, the demon has the alchemical syymbol for death, as well as the symbol of Venus. The other side has the symbol of life, alongside the symbol of Mars. The intention was too create a stark contrast, and the forlorn loneliness that can come with being in a marginalized group that is being actively attacked.
