Teresa Mouro Pinto

My name is Teresa and I am a 24 years old designer. My love for fashion started pretty early on in my life, when I drooled over Elie Saab fashion shows, around the age of 11. At the time, I was very much into sparkles and princess-like gowns. Due to that ongoing love, I graduated in fashion design. I really enjoyed it, but after working as
an assistant designer for two years, I started realising that maybe that wasn’t the role that best suited me. However, through this experience, I did notice how fascinating the customer is to me. Especially in the case of the brand that I worked for, whose target market was a group of people of an age and social status very different to mine. To distance myself from what I believe and my own taste, was a crucial exercise to create a meaningful experience through my designs.
Therefore, when I decided to switch to a different professional field, I knew that it needed to be as multidisciplinary and as human centered as fashion design. With this in mind, I got curious about UX/UI design and, ultimately, enrolled in an intensive course about it. During the school projects I really appreciated how much emphasis was put on research, and how important the trial and error process was for problem solving. Moreover, I was glad to be able to work on a team of driven and generous people who support each other along the way. I am a very empathic person, which I believe is very valuable not only for the design process, but also as a teammate.
