Carlos Alves is a multidisciplinary designer and musician with a design degree from the Faculty of Architecture - University of Lisbon. Before joining the Logoplaste Innovation Lab team as Packaging Designer, he worked for various communication agencies. In the Logoplaste Innovation Lab team, he takes the opportunity to adopt Design Thinking methodologies in developing and implementing products, processes, and systems. He believes that human-centered design is a powerful way to improve the world by understanding the people we are looking to serve, dreaming up scores of ideas, and creating innovative solutions rooted in people's needs. At Logoplaste Innovation Lab he has developed several packaging design projects for some of the Fortune 500 companies, being a winner of international design awards (iF Design Award, Red Dot Award, German Design Award, IDEA Award by IDSA). He also had the opportunity to adopt Biomimicry Thinking methodology.
Regarding music, he is a founding member of The Dowsers Society, a Portuguese power trio rock band. They recorded their eponymous debut album at Black Sheep Studios in 2015. Their most recent album is called Worlds Within, recorded at Black Sheep Studios, featuring various special participations. In 2018, Carlos Alves composed the soundtrack for a Portuguese independent documentary that, unfortunately, never saw the light of day.
At the moment, Carlos Alves is doing a Mixing and Mastering Course. After finishing this course he aims to do the "Music Production for Films" in Domestika and start working on some cool sounds and compositions for short films.
